Satya D. Pradhuman
Prior to forming Cirrus in 2007, Satya spent more than 20 years on Wall Street in the equity research departments of E.F. Hutton, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch. In 1994, Satya founded the Small Cap Research department at Merrill Lynch, applying a top-down and bottom-up methodology to the small and mid cap arena. He developed proprietary tools for timing small and large cap performance cycles in the US and across regions, growth and value cycles, volatility swings and capital access trends. His innovative analysis includes linking private equity markets to public markets via the small cap sector.
Satya's highly regarded work attained ranking by Institutional Investor magazine for 11 straight years. He has authored Small Cap Dynamics (Bloomberg Press, 2000) and contributed "The Presence of Value in Small-Cap Equities" to Equity Style Management (Klein and Lederman, Irwin, 1995).
Satya holds a BS in Math and Computer Science from Union College and a MBA in Finance from New York University's Stern School of Business.
Pankaj N. Patel
Pankaj Patel is a Managing Director, Head of Quantitative Research and Co-Manager of Investment Advisory Business.
Pankaj has been named to Institutional Investor's All America Research Team in most years since 2003. In addition to being ranked in Quantitative Research, he has also been ranked in Small Cap Strategy and Derivatives. He provides high quality, in-depth research using fundamental, macro-economic and technical signals to help institutional investors in their investment process.
Prior to joining Cirrus Research, Pankaj was Global Head of Quantitative Research and Small Cap Research at Evercore ISI and Credit Suisse for more than 15 years. Before joining Credit Suisse he was a Portfolio Manager at Weiss Peck & Greer, where he helped manage $1.5 billion using quantitative models. Prior to that role, he worked at General Electric in various positions starting from Corporate Audit Staff.
Pankaj holds the CFA designation and received his MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the Gujarat University, India.
Mitchell J. Hew
Mitch began his career on Wall Street as a research and trading assistant for the Rothschild Recovery Fund in 1998. In April 2000, he joined Wilbur Ross, Jr. and members of the Rothschild restructuring team forming WL Ross & Co. LLC, a leader in financial restructuring, private equity and alternative investments. At WL Ross, Mitch served as System Administrator and later Chief Information Officer, overseeing all levels of end user, messaging and telecommunications support including network security and portfolio management/accounting system design. Mitch holds an BA from Yale University.
Georgiana Fung, CFA
Georgiana brings to Cirrus a decade of analytical experience focused on smaller companies. As a member of the Small Cap Research team at Merrill Lynch, she developed investment and sector strategies via extensive analysis of performance drivers, risk-taking signals, fund flows and asset allocation. She is also recognized for research on the private equity market in relation to small caps, having co-authored articles in Private Equity International and Journal of Private Equity. Georgiana holds a BS in Finance and Marketing from New York University's Stern School of Business. She is a CFA charterholder and New York Society of Security Analysts member. She is also fluent in Cantonese.
Before joining Cirrus in 2012, Mike worked on a number of significant undergraduate research projects in the fields of Economics and Mathematics. Among them was his senior thesis, which sought to improve results from yield curve based forecasting models. In addition, he explored the Economic feasibility of multiple alternative energy sources as a member of a team funded by a Mellon Grant. Mike holds a BS in Math and Economics from Union College.
Paul K. Peltekian
Paul started his career at JP Morgan Investment Management on the equity trading desk focused on program trading. He also traded the Telecommunications, Utility, and Pharmaceutical sectors for US equity teams. In 1999, Paul moved to JPMIM's London office to help restructure the electronic trading operations for their Pan-European funds. He began working at GFI Group, Inc. in 2005 where he focused on the Credit Default Swap markets and helped build out an institutional equity research product driven by anomalies seen between the credit and equity markets. He subsequently worked with a team of sales traders and analysts at Tradition Equities. Paul holds a BS in Finance from DePaul University.
Shelley E. Herold
Shelley began her career in 1989 at Boettcher & Co., Inc. (now Wells Fargo) on the retail and institutional equity and fixed income desks. She spent nine years with Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. as vice president institutional equity, eight years with A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. (now Wells Fargo) as senior vice president/officer institutional equity and nine years with First Analysis in the same institutional equity capacity. Shelley holds a Bachelor's degree from Babson College and an MBA from the University of Denver.
Philip joined Cirrus in 2017, bringing over 20 years of experience in financial markets serving in a multitude of roles including institutional sales, capital markets and portfolio management. Philip began his career in 1992 at Robinson-Humphrey in Atlanta where he was a member of the equity capital markets desk helping to bring emerging growth companies to the public markets.
He later joined the institutional sales team at Pacific Growth Equities in San Francisco in 1997 where he went on to become a partner in the firm. He joined OTR Global, a leading independent research firm, in 2005 and helped to lead the west coast institutional sales group at the firm. Most recently Philip was at Citibank where he managed client portfolios for the bank's Private Client Group. Philip holds a BA from Emory University and an MBA from Georgia State University.
Thirza T. Moran
Thirza is a founding member of Cirrus Research and manages the firm's daily operations, including technology, human resources, contracts, office management and vendor relationships. Previously, she worked at Bradford Equities Management and Horizon Organic Holding Corporation in the areas of marketing, communications, investor relations and administration. Her experience also includes project and event coordination, database administration and report and collateral materials creation. Thirza holds a BA from Denison University.
